The IMS ACQPASS™ Fellowship Program is an innovative, competitive, paid apprenticeship program to empower the next generation of integrated Federal acquisition workforce leaders with the business, government, and civic knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to effectively, efficiently, economically, and ethically execute and administer the estimated $500 billion annually in US Federal government contract spending.

To recruit, hire, and develop the nation’s most promising talent into emerging integrated Federal acquisition workforce leaders.


Program Experience

  • The program begins with a three-day onboarding session where you will receive an overview of the program objectives and curriculum structure including the IMS Acquisition Capability Maturity Model (ACMM) and Acquisition Training Standard (ATS). You will also be assigned to a Professional Learning Group (PLG) with a dedicated PLG Leader who will work with you to develop an Individualized Development Plan (IDP). Additionally, you will complete IMS and Federal government department or agency required security clearance – the level of clearance will vary depending on the Federal government department or agency.

  • During the first year, you will be immersed in the cohort-style internship phase of the program where you will receive 1500+ hours of “on-the-job” training, 500+ hours of informal (social interaction-based) learning, and 300+ hours of formal coursework leading to an IMS certification in Federal acquisitions. Additionally, throughout this phase of the program, you will receive a highly competitive stipend, structured individualized development plan guidance, and 1-on-1 executive coaching and mentorship to truly propel your career growth!

  • During the second year of the program, upon successful completion of the internship phase during year one, you will transition to full-time IMS employment as an integrated Federal acquisition workforce professional within one of our Federal government department or agency client sites. As a full-time IMS employee, you will receive a professional compensation package including highly competitive salary plus bonuses, insurance and investment benefits, rewards and recognition program, higher education tuition assistance, professional organization membership reimbursement, and continuous learning and development opportunities.

How to Apply

  • Interested applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or three (3) or more years of undergraduate coursework completed. Additionally, applicants must be US citizens residing in the United States. Remote participation is allowed, however most program activities will be scheduled on the Eastern Time Standard.

  • Interested applicants must submit their current resume, most recent unofficial transcripts, and an online application through the IMSolutions ADP Recruitment system.

Selection Process

  • All applicants will be assessed to determine their foundational skill level and public service motivation. This will include a prescreen process, a panel interview with seasoned acquisition professionals, and a possible follow up interview or questionnaire. At the conclusion of this round, twenty-five (25) applicants will be selected for candidacy and advancement to Round 2.

  • In Round 2 of the selection process, all selected candidates will engage in prerequisite Federal acquisition training during the month of January 2023. This required training will consist of:

    CON 100 - Shaping Smart Business Arrangements (32 hrs)

    CON 091 - Contract Fundamentals (100 hrs)

    FAC 023 - Basic Contracting for GSA Schedules (4 hrs)

    Pariticipation in this training will be on a paid basis and the cost of training is covered by IMS. Based on individual performance in the prerequisite training, twenty-one (21) candidates will ultimately be selected to advance as Federal Acquisition Support Service Apprentices. Once selected, apprentices will begin full-time support activities on February 15, 2023.
